Ciara Foster

My name is Ciara Foster; I am a visual artist. I have a first class honours degree from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. I also completed an MA in Design at NCAD in 2003.

My approach to art has always been very varied. Both drawing and working in 3-d has always been an important part of my work. I create figurative work out of discarded and mostly natural materials, which often prove awkward and unyielding to work with, and so often provide a challenge.

My work is driven by my compulsion to simply make and enjoy the process. I have exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the UK and Ireland, and I have been on various art residencies in Ireland and America.
