Born in Ellsworth Maine, Brace attended Maine College of Art in Portland. She then worked for a non-profit adoption agency. Brace is a current MFA student at Mason Gross of Arts and a Part Time Lecturer.
Unattached to any medium specificity, her work center’s around notions of appropriation, mimesis, and reconstructing patterns of behavior through the use of repetition and the familiar. Brace’s collaborative work includes an upcoming quilt project at the Dumbo Arts Festival, a Tag Sale in Highland Park New Jersey and a soapbox performance at Hillyer Art Space in Washington D.C.
